Editing of my Horror Teaser Trailer - POSSESSED

This was my first edit of my trailer that I made:

This is what I put together first of all from all my filming that I done of these two characters. I wanted my teaser trailer to be like a short story showing my target audience what would be included so they would be more persuaded to watch the film but I made sure that the end of the trailer was a cliffhanger so my target audience would not know what happens. However, I knew that there was many things that I needed to change on my trailer and I used my audience feedback in order to help me do this and to make the changes needed.

After making the first edit of my teaser trailer I asked members of my target audience for their feedback and these were the suggestions:

-Needs background music
- Needs sound effects
-More screaming
-The scene in the bedroom needs to be shorter

I am going to make sure that I consider these options in my teaser trailer to ensure that I have satisfied my target audience and met their wants and needs so that my teaser trailer is successful.

- Girl in the corner after the shot with the torch shining on her
- Added 'But when will she arrive?' before we see her at the door

Above were the two major changes I made in this particular edit as when I played my teaser trailer I noticed that the shot which is in black and white in my trailer was in a random place and needed to either be moved or deleted. I did not want to delete this shot as I personally thought that it was very effective as from my horror teaser trailer research I found out that this particular movement in many shots had been used. So I decided not to delete this shot and to follow it on from when the girl shines the torch on her as she is still sitting in the same place so worked well in this different position. I also thought there was not enough text during the middle part of my teaser trailer so I decided that it would be more effective and leave my target audience asking questions if I added a question in the trailer which was unanswered from the start to the beginning of the trailer. I thought this would draw more attention to the trailer and make it seem more scary for those watching it.

- Made the scene in the bedroom shorter when the girl tries to ring the police

I made this particular shot a lot shorter as when I asked my target audience for their feedback this was the main thing that most of them replied with. I agree with them as it is a horror teaser trailer and I know now that my target audience would get bored if the shots were too long as they would only want to see short, quick clips of the film to attract their attention.

- Added music and sounds
- Girl walks slower up the stairs

The two above are another two things that I changed in my horror teaser trailer. I made sure that background music and sounds were added as this is one of the most important aspects of a horror trailer as it creates tension and makes the audience more scared. Also, this means that I have answered my audience feedback by adding in their suggestions. I made the shot of the girl walking up the stairs slower which makes her seem more mysterious and builds up tension as the target audience does not know what is going to happen next in the horror teaser trailer.

MY FINAL HORROR TEASER TRAILER FINISHED:

This was my final piece and I was very pleased with the outcome. The editing and putting everything together was difficult at times as some of the sound effects that I wanted to use would not work as their was other sound effects by it and it was hard to fit the sounds in at the right times.
It was extremely time consuming and I found it hard to find the correct sounds needed for my teaser trailer but I managed to get over these problems and create my trailer as planned in the beginning.
